Bombshell on Rainbow Bridge: FOX and Fiends, Blowing Up Again [1]

Call it a triple-cheese whopper. At our northern border, a crashing, burning Bentley gets FOX-ified into a “terrorist” car bomb “loaded with explosives.” Absent some speedy correction, a megaton of blamethowing aimed at (who else?) President Biden no doubt would have followed.

Oh, well. Perhaps the lately teased Donald Trump/Tucker Carlson 2024 ticket can build a Great Wall of Canada. (For which the Great White North will pay. Just as Mexico has done down yonder, per Trump’s 2016 howler, right?)

Don’t look now, but FOX’s ‘air-em-and-scare-em’ fearmongering parades gassy gaffes as nifty news. Not to rain on their charade, but it includes calling Michelle Obama a “baby mama.” Accusing Mr. Biden of trying to ban gas ovens. Purporting that it’s proper and legit to wonder if the Chinese conjured Covid to make then-President Trump look bad. Smearing Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as obstructors of Trump’s (non-existent) efforts to deploy the National Guard to secure the Capitol on J6 (i.e., from mobs aligned with Trump himself). Trying to pin Trump’s loss on voting machine software firms. And much, much more.

So, how do we put the toxic FOX genie back in the bottle? The good news: in April, the Murdoch domain sacked Brother Tucker. The not-so-good: overall, to the nth degree, FOX has buoyed, boosted, and ballyhooed Carlson’s idol, the now prolifically indicted orange ogre. (Sad.)

Before history repeats-and-escalates, look. This is vital. In March, with one vulpine paw out the network’s door, Carlson ‘reported’ that the GOP raiders of our nearly lost Capitol “were not insurrectionists. They were sightseers.”

Sightseers, my foot. Lest we ‘forget,’ one of them (from a group closely aligned with Trump) howled “Civil war started!”- while scads of others bayed “HANG MIKE PENCE!” (Oh, well.)

Granted, Carlson has schlepped off to X. But he cut his fangs at FOX. With J6 still getting memory holed six ways to Sunday, let’s talk turkey. Aside to him:

Look. Most schoolkids fully grasp the fact that sightseeing has no truck with trespassing. Let alone breaking-and-entering in broad daylight. Let alone assault. Let alone mayhem. Let alone roiling our Rotunda to destroy our vote-legitimized governance.

At age 53, sir, you’re no child. But what a brat! Wantonly whitewashing (if not saluting) Trump’s troop? Holy smoking gun! In your frat-boy-on-steroids psyche, what on Earth goes on?

The late psychiatrist/philosopher/bestselling author M. Scott Peck resolves fraught, frequent fibbers (aka People of the Lie) as fascistic-if-not-fascist (i.e. un-American) and fundamentally evil. From baselessly trashing vote tallies to tendentiously howling over a car crash, our dread, demagoguing, FOX-fomented right wing-turned-cult bodes ill, indeed.

In all, FOX guarding our hen house augurs a bridge to nowhere. In thrall to Carlson bilge, Murdoch merde, and a cult that demands obeisance-sans-evidence, we verge on ceding the nation to some very bad seeds. Let no such fiends be trusted; to terrorize via fake ‘facts’ is to ‘unthinkably’ support domestic terror (viz. J6) going forward.
