White to move and mate in two #436 - Dublin in the rare ol' times of James Joyce [1]

This NJ ex-pat of 45 years has been living just north of Dublin in jolly ol’ Ireland for the past 38 years, revelling in the culture… and the Guinness. I did another Joycean-themed piece a while back:
White to move and mate in two #376 - Good puzzle would be... cross Dublin without passing a pub
But always wanted to give you readers more in that vein. So in aid of that goal, the wife and I have a (ahem, Guinness-sponsored) Ulysses poster hanging up in our hall for years now, showing a map of Dublin city centre from ca. 1904, with pics from that era and selected passages from Ulysses. There is very little natural lighting in our entrance hall, so I had to choose between a lamp, which reflection thereof obliterated too much of the map, or flash. In the end, the flash from my phone camera preserved more of the map, obscuring just a bit of the river Liffey. Here it is, full size. You should be able to open it in a separate browser tab, and blow it up to view the photos and read the text. I had to put it on my hobby site, because DK wouldn’t let me upload something that large (so as to be legible):
