Slow-walk Aid to Ukraine or Block It Entirely, Putin Wins and Ukrainians Die [1]

Have you suspected that the U.S. slow-walks aid to Ukraine? That, on a good day when Republicans aren’t blocking aid altogether. Enough aid to keep Ukraine from losing, but not enough to enable Ukraine to win? You aren’t alone. Germany’s Bild confirmed these fears, revealing that, despite the rhetoric, Western policy is exactly that:

Sure, I get it: the mantra has always been Don’t Piss Russia Off. The Russian nuclear bluff works very, very well. And there is the fear that if Ukraine wins, that will de-stabilize Russia leading to Putin’s downfall and who knows what will follow him. Will the whole of vast Russia and central Asia be plunged into civil war again (we can’t forget that the Russian civil war that followed the Bolshevik seizure of power in 1917 didn’t end until 1923) with nukes this time? The U.S. likes stability above all.
As for the Ukrainians, sadly, they have a long history of being sold out by great powers. Stalin and Hitler killed millions of Ukrainians. Ukraine gave up their Soviet nukes in 1994 in return for security guarantees that the West showed in 2014 to be worthless after the “little green men” invasion. Will now be any different? I would point out that trading land for “peace” with Putin only guarantees that we will be back here again as soon as Putin re-builds his army. Guaranteed.
