My Son in Prison Has Typhoid [1]

My son is in prison in a country not the US or a Western democracy. Forgive me if I don’t go into any details but sometimes it is better not to say too much. For years I had no idea where he was being held but a good friend in that country managed to track him down and we now keep in touch through a cellphone the friend managed to smuggle in to him. It is a very stressful and difficult situation, as you can imagine.
We are working to get him out but there are complications which, again, I should not go into here and now.
I’ve published a few stories about him here and then deleted some of them through what may be an excess of caution. Some of them I’ve left up so a search of my past diaries should tell the basics to anyone who wishes to know more.
I have been much more free when talking about John in Ghana for obvious reasons. This has nothing to do with John or his work.
At any rate, my son has been feeling bad for a few days now and he finally managed to get into the infirmary in the prison (everything there is done through bribes and money.) They told him he has typhoid.
Typhoid is what got him incarcerated in the first place. It almost killed him.
Prayers and positive thoughts would be much appreciated. This is a difficult time for us.
