Good morning, Folks.

Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum. Join us, please.

I hope you’re in the mood for an energetic wake up because this morning I thought I’d offer up some tunes by one of my favorite bands, The Who.

I believe these guys—or, specifically, their drummer Keith Moon—began the custom of rock bands smashing their instruments on stage or their hotel rooms afterward. Just watch the first vid, which is, I believe, from the documentary The Kids Are Alright, if you want a good example of that. (Yes, that’s Tommy Smothers with the acoustic.)
