Good morning, my beloved fellow vermi [ooops!]….Newdists! How the heck are you? I hope you all are doing fabulously. Had your seasonal shots yet? I get mine in two weeks.
I didn’t tell you all that when I got back from SLC, I came in with a sprained foot. When I finally made it to the ER, they gave me a boot. Honestly, Newdists, I don’t know how I drove home with my left foot using the clutch. I was horizontal for a few days.
Then I was hobbling around on a boot. Things have improved though.

Newdists, please, grab a cuppa, something to eat, and join us in the thread.
Feathers and Insects
x My favourite pond bath clip so far I think. I have zoomed the camera in a bit. I love how the coal tit joins in at the end!#GwylltHollow @RSPBCymru @HIKVISIONUK pic.twitter.com/3NiIlE375C — WildlifeKate (@katemacrae) November 13, 2023
x Adult male scale insects are tiny, delicate, and rarely seen. @SciBugs caught this one so I could share him with you. You're welcome.

x Monkey Grasshoppers are such fun insects. Gangly legs splayed out everywhere! They usually turn away, like most grasshoppers. but this one was nice enough to sit for a portrait.

x One of the upsides of taking thousands of photos is you get to be pleasantly surprised by pictures of amazing insects when you see them again. Check out these beautiful beetles.

x It's a woodpecker double feature for this #FreebirdFriday, as we bid adieu to a Northern flicker and a yellow-bellied sapsucker, who both collided with windows in Manhattan and spent time in our care.

x Another fabulous moth from the Andean cloud forest. The coloring and patterns of this tiger moth remind me of something you might find decorating a playing card.
