I sadly think there is absolutely no point in trying to discuss this issue here.

I will now state my position clearly.

1- This current tit-for-tat mass murder cannot be regarded in isolation from the overall history since British rule. [Link to the Balfour project]

2- The current rise in both Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia is unconscionable. [Link goes to the OHCHR]

3- The accepted international definition of Anti-Semitism as written by The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance [link goes to IHRA] and is a reasonable working definition.

4- Gaza is an occupied Palestinian territory and will remain defined as such until the General Assembly or the UN Security Council decides otherwise. There has been no change. [Link goes to the OHCHR]

5- Since this is still an active war and a propaganda war, all claims of crimes by Hamas and Israel must be provable to an independent third party at the time of the claim. The only place the validity of such claims can be determined is the International Criminal Court. [link to ICC]

6- The objective of the current Right-wing Government in Israel appears to be an apartheid single-state. Only the votes of the Israeli people can determine if this is the course they wish to go down. The current international wish for a Two-State Solution seems to be a forlorn one unless serious work is carried out to get there.

7- I am pleased to see roughly 2/3 of Americans [link goes to Reuters] are for an immediate Cease-fire as opposed to the majority of their elected representatives in DC.

8- My only wish is to see both Israelis and Palestinians find peace and freedom and believe this will have a positive ripple effect throughout the Middle East.

9- History will judge the decisions of today and karma will do the rest.

10- As a dyslexic, I am very careful [I do try] of every word that I write in the diary. Sometimes with high-volume comments, I get frustrated with a few people I don’t know assuming that they know my mind. You don’t, read the ******* diary. Personnal insults as always will be ignored and I discourage hiding them in this emotive subject. I regret none of my I/P diaries that I have written over the years.
