The Code: Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia [1]

The mentioning of certain cities to conservatives, bigots, anti-Semites, and homophobes prompts a conditioned reflex. Russian physiologist and neurologist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov most famously researched this phenomenon. Whether it be coincidence or a cruel bit of irony, Republicans are supporting Russia in its fight against democracy and are most susceptible to the Russian scientist’s theory of ‘classical conditioning’ known to most of us as Pavlov’s Dog response. Using dogs as test subjects, Pavlov postured that certain physical and mental stimuli can trigger psychological reflexive behavior—one of the more famous concepts of Pavlov’s experimentation involved using sound to trigger a response. Popular belief is that he correlated a bell with serving food, although that factoid is disputed.
Like a bell, the mention of specific city names brings Republicans and their supporters running to the bigotry trough. Instead of screaming thug or Black people, conservatives ring the Chicago bell. Although globalist is now the vogue word for Jew, New York still has its place. Even avowed liberals like Jesse Jackson once called New York “Hymie-Town.” Unlike conservatives who have vowed never to apologize for any insult, Jackson retracted the slur and apologized. When Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker and current Rep. from California Nancy Pelosi, was attacked by a hammer-wielding maniac, the conservative troll machine sprang into action. Despite video and audio evidence of the heinous assault on Mr. Pelosi, Republicans did not hesitate to advance the false narrative that the San Francisco-based Pelosi was the victim of a gay quarrel gone wrong.
After the last presidential election, Philadelphia and Detroit rose to the top of the list of cities accused of election fraud and, not coincidentally, are majority-black cities. In reality, Republicans attempted election fraud with fake electors, tampering with voting machines, and bogus recounts by organizations like Cyber Ninjas.
Murder rates are higher in red areas
In 2022, Kern County, California, home to recently ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s district of Bakersfield, data shows a homicide rate of 11.1 murders per 100,000 residents, almost double the rate of Pelosi’s district in San Francisco. Pelosi is another moniker assailed by Republicans thanks to former RNC Chair Michael Steele, who made a concerted effort not only to defeat but demonize the Pelosi name. Fox News, Newsmax, and others of their ilk use scare tactics of rampant shoplifting videos punctuated with Chicago homicide numbers to appease the bigotry of their audiences, which has worked. Of course, it also acts as a distraction from their leading candidate for the presidency, having been found liable for rape, charity fraud, and bilking hundreds with a phony university.
Once terms like CRT were exposed as racist tropes, conservatives receded to their tried and true language of bigotry and hate. Georgia, for example, elected a Representative who touted Jewish space lasers as the cause of forest fires. Former North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn, whose grievous attacks on decency when directed at Democrats were hailed by Republicans, alleged drug use by his colleagues, and his alleged same-sex activity, subsequently lost the support and the votes of his constituents. The recent public display of mutual sexual groping by Rep. Lauren Boebert and her companion in a crowded family theatre was a short-lived story. However, Donald Trump still hints at Paul Pelosi’s sexual identity at rallies, making sure to mention his wife’s representation of San Francisco in Congress. The next time a Republican politician, pundit, or conservative news station says Chicago, remember, they mean Black; New York, they mean Jew; San Francisco, they mean Gay, and Philadelphia is a conflation of Black and dishonesty.
