Can You Do More? What Does Fighting Like Hell to Elect Biden Look Like? [1]

Last Monday (11/6/23) BlackGrannyRising wrote a great diary about how the “concern” about Biden’s age is really just a dog whistle signaling “concern” with who would replace him if he became unable to serve. It’s definitely worth a read: www.dailykos.com/…

What keeps sticking with me, and gave me great big lit up spots in my heart and brain, was what she said towards the end of her diary (emphasis mine):

Start working. Double what you did to get Biden elected in 2020. When we VOTE. WE Win.

So many times, we read something along the lines of “we will all need to fight like hell.” Statements like those always make me feel anxious for some reason. What do abstract statements like that really look like in the real world?

Then along came BlackGrannyRising with the answer:

Double what you did to get Biden elected in 2020.

Now, for some of you this isn’t possible due to changes in your health, finances, or some other situation since 2020. No judgement from me! For some of you amazing heroes, you already stretched yourself to the breaking point to help accomplish that win and couldn’t possibly do more . Thank you! I’m not speaking to either of those groups. I’m speaking to folks like me, who did some, or none, but could do more. Or give more money. Or both. It will look different for each person. It might be less than double what you did last time, it might be more than double. (There are even opportunities for introverts like me such as writing postcards to voters or texting voters!) But, can you do more ? Can you? I’m going to. Let’s do more if we can! Let’s do more!
