A Useful Seminar: When Longstanding Military Conflicts Have NO Military Solution [1]

Homo stultis is at it again, in various places around the globe, with both the technology and the attitude necessary to make the planet uninhabitable.

This guy has some perspective on that — way more than I do at the moment.

He is worth listening to [and watching].

There was a lot of pushback to this video even among his regular viewers. Which is no surprise, because they’re a diverse audience.

The video isn’t incendiary. It just… makes one think. Which is the only hope for Homo stultis. And I am, as Sam Clemens once wrote, not only marching in that parade, I am carrying a banner.

I’m fighting my own Homo stultis genetics, and losing badly, so am calling it a night and will, God willing and the creek don’t rise, check comments in the morning.

In The Morning

Edit in: I think it may be useful to provide my own historical perspective here, so that the “longstanding” part of my headline has the context I meant for it.

My opinion was articulated almost perfectly by Ambrose Bierce, in The Devil’s Dictionary, long before I was even born:

"Peace, n. In international affairs, a period of cheating between two periods of fighting."

Bierce was actually taught, albeit briefly, as part of American Lit in my high school English class. I have no idea if he still is; if not, it’s a loss.

I’m still a bit stultified so will be checking in mostly to rec comments today. Thanks to all who find this useful on any level.
