The lawsuit over racial gerrymandering for the Cobb County School Board has revealed how the narrow Republican majority rammed through the approval of the maps while the chairman secretly conspired with the consulting firm he hired with taxpayer money, then lied to cover up the relationship.
As reported by the Cobb County Courier: “Secrecy dominated Cobb school board redistricting process, court documents show”
Court documents show that Cobb County school board member Randy Scamihorn met with former Republican state representative Earl Ehrhart to discuss redistricting three months before a school board meeting in which he adamantly denied Ehrhart’s involvement. …. The board approved hiring Taylor English 4-3 along party lines. The decision was lambasted by the Democratic members of the board because it was approved without knowing the cost or seeking bids from any other firms.
This type of dishonest behavior is not surprising coming from a group of fanatical culture warriors who hire partisan hacks with school district money.
