Kitchen Table Kibitzing 11/11/23 [1]

by the time I write my next KTK...I’ll be writing while sitting out on our new front porch...or in the living room...depending on the weather...and enjoying the view.
it will not be stress-free… we move in the day before thanksgiving. and my mother-in-law will move up the next monday. remembrance’s sister is flying in late thanksgiving night. the plan was she would fly in...stay 3 weeks to help her mom pack. now she (and we) will have 3 days. she will also have over 2-1/2” weeks staying in what will likely be a box-filled house of chaos.
despite their request for the fast escrow...we couldn’t say no. after 4 days on the market my mother-in-law got a great offer...far above the others...and above everybody’s expectations.
tomorrow will be 10 weeks from when we went from casually looking at ways we could improve my 85 year-old mother-in-law’s living situation...to this is the house that could work...let’s crunch some numbers. the next 2 weeks was spent going over it all with the agents...and amongst the family. I put together numbers based a worst case and best case scenarios...we are comfortably close to the best case numbers.
won’t have time for the usual thanksgiving...but we are thankful.
