This question was asked by MyManInYurt:

“I am not a native speaker, but I reached a toefle-test score of 104 (equivalent to C1). And I am a teacher, teaching nearly every kind of subject to anything from schoolchildren to adolescents.”

The short answer is “yes.”

The medium length answer is “Hell yes!” — especially if you are a teacher.

The full answer from ENGin is:

You need to have a C1 or C2 level of proficiency (or equivalent).

The need is great, and the requirements of the students are diverse. If a student wished to learn English in order to be able to do business with people from the EU, for example, it might be better to have someone from Europe rather than a native speaker from the U. S.
