Turning 65 & Medicare / Gap Insurance [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

I will turn 65 in a few days and signed up for Medicare. The premium is $165 / month for parts A & B combined. Which is about the same as what I have paid for high end insurance in RI after the massive tax credit they give me.

I am fortunate to have a good enough income it is no problem to pay the Medicare premium instead of having to take a Medicare Advantage program. It also very important because I travel a lot for my job doing concert lighting, and while the artist I work for carries proper tour insurance, any injury that might require me to go through Medicare I will not have to worry about being out of network with MA and all the other ways they could potentially screw me over.

I do need to find some gap insurance to cover the 20% Medicare generally will not pay from what I understand. If anyone knows of a good provider for that gap insurance I would surely appreciate you naming them in the comments.
