On November 9, 1835, Clara Josephine Wieck played her Piano Concerto in A minor, Opus 7, with Felix Mendelssohn conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus. She would go on to marry Robert Schumann, now considered one of the greatest composers of all time, while her own musical talent was forgotten for much of the 20th Century. The New York Times called her “music’s unsung Renaissance woman.”
Here’s Guoda Gedvilaitė on piano and conducting a chamber orchestra version of the concerto.

For those who prefer a fuller orchestra, and including the horns, trumpets and timpani, here’s Claudia Corona with the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lanfranco Marcelletti.

Oddly, I can’t find any recordings of this concerto with a male soloist, though Jozef de Beenhouwer did record all of Clara Schumann’s unaccompanied piano music (a 3-disc set on the CPO label).
After the intermission, the concert could perhaps end with Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 in D minor, which had special significance to Clara and Robert.
