Trump Things That Make You Go Hmmm... [1]

It has been barely a year and a half since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Republicans who had hoped and thought that abortion would be condemned to the trash bin of history are preceding it. As if living in a time warp, the GOP was under the impression that once the decision was handed down, they could tap the little ladies on the head, and they would take off their shoes and confine themselves to the kitchen. Women not only got angry, they showed up at the ballot box. From Kansas to Wisconsin and yesterday in Ohio and Virginia, women [young and old] and the men who love them are fighting back. The landscape is peppered with the personal stories of women forced to carry dangerous and nonviable pregnancies. In one now infamous case, a 10-year-old rape victim had to be spirited out of state to receive the healthcare she deserved and needed.
Unlike what Republicans would have you believe, cases of the health of a woman are factors and are not made-up excuses for promiscuity. Women no longer feign the thrill of vacuuming in high heels and pearls like June Cleaver or fretting over Ward, Wally, and the Beaver’s dinner. Increasingly, women have realized that their lives and lifestyles are a choice, not an imperative. Black women saved the presidential aspirations of Joe Biden, overwhelmingly casting decisive votes to make him president. Although it is easy—and at times lazy, to only point fingers at Donald Trump, his brainwashing of a significant portion of the Republican party with the promise of ‘too much winning’ has the GOP on the verge of collapsing to the ground along with his fraudulent Trumpian empire.
It does not take much research to compare President Joe Biden’s accomplishments with former President Trump. Mr. Trump promised reform on prescription drug prices, and President Biden delivered. Infrastructure under Donald Trump became a Saturday Night Live punchline; under President Biden, infrastructure is now construction projects. Mexico paying for two thousand miles of border wall was a far-fetched lie. Instead, Mr. Biden signed the most significant domestic Climate Crisis bill in history. Had Mr. Trump won a second term, it boggles the imagination how many more lives—unchecked—the COVID-19 virus would have killed. President Biden contained the rampant spread of the virus and returned people to the workforce in record numbers. Meanwhile, Mr. Trump has a record number of criminal charges.
Mr. Trump, who promised his business acumen would make America great again, instead lowered taxes for the rich, increased the national debt by almost eight trillion dollars after pledging to reduce it, and left office with fewer jobs than when he had entered. His supporters tell you his failures resulted from an unforeseen health crisis. The problem with that logic is that Mr. Trump, months before the COVID-19 virus reached its zenith, knew the virus was virulent and airborne, saying [he] “wanted to always play it down.” His insistence that the virus would disappear when the weather got hotter cost countless lives. Whereas most presidents leave with accomplishments on their resumes that will begin their inevitable obituaries, Mr. Trump’s will start with rape, insurrection, stealing classified documents and may end with felony convictions.
