Shown below is some glass art which was displayed in the Museum of Glass (MOG) in Tacoma, Washington.
American artist Robert Willson (1912-2000)
In 1964, Robert Willson, sculptor, and professor of art at University of Miami, studied and worked with Alfredo Barbini in Murano, Italy. According to MOG:
“Drawn to the malleability, luminosity, and kaleidoscopic effects of reflected and refracted light glass provided as a medium, Willson’s work pushed the limits of hot glass sculpting at the time.”
Shown above is Untitled Sculpture from the Chisel series, circa 1965. Internally decorated cast glass.
Shown above is Watch Tower, 1970s. Hot-sculpted glass.
Shown above is Cubist Sculpture, circa 1985. Designed by Robert Willson and made by Elio Raffaeli. Hot sculpted glass with gold leaf.
