I never really understood MAGA followers. Now I think I do...and I'm REALLY SCARED! [1]

Good day everyone.
I’ll be honest. As a somewhat intelligent person (or so I’ve been told), I had a hard time understanding why anyone would willingly follow TFG...even with his current indictments. I mean I sort of understand them wanting someone “just like them” or “willing to p*ss off the people they don’t like”. Yes, he is a “celebrity”, such as it were, but that’s not enough to explain it.
Then I opened a Medium posting by Michelle Teheux entitled “The Answer Makes Sense Only When You Know What the Question Is”. After reading it, I have a somewhat altered understanding of what may be going on. We’re looking at this from our perspective, not theirs...and apparently they don’t want democracy...at least for us.
It’s her article and I don’t want to use too much from it, but one section stood out to me...and I think this is what it’s all about:
“These people are not looking for a president of the United States. They are looking for a “Caesar.”
While the rest of us are pissing and moaning that democracy is at stake, these conservatives have already written off democracy. They aren’t interested in it at all. They want to tear it down.”
I know this may not be news to many, if not most of you. But I have to say that seeing it put this way makes me feel that our efforts need to be a little more urgent. These people aren’t f-ing around.
