Some commentator was saying that Trump should not be jailed because his supporters would be enraged. The implication was that there would be riots and civil unrest, maybe rising to the level of civil war.
Maybe so, although the marked absence of demonstrators at the various court houses suggests otherwise.
But fear of the next possible insurrection is not a reason to fail to deal firmly with the last one. That would take the entire justice process hostage and further undermine it's already dubious fairness and impartiality.
Deal with one insurrection at a time!
