Is there a trump competent enough to testify? [1]

Today as I worked getting the farm ready for winter, I thought about donald trump’s upcoming testimony in his New York civil fraud case. The present hearings will determine the damages, compensation, and disgorgement resulting from trump’s consistent business fraud. His two sons have already testified that their fiduciary ineptness arises from incompetency and ignorance.
Consider trump’s recent public appearances: he does not appear to know where he is, he engages in bizarre facial and body ticks, he falls into meaningless circumlocution while rambling on about nothing, all the while employing a severely limited conceptual framework. Should Judge Engoron assess the elder trump’s mental competency before allowing his sworn testimony? Such a precaution might prevent a dotard’s unwitting perjury. A few simple questions should suffice for the Judge to make a determination:
1) Do you know where you are?
2) Do you understand why you are here?,
3) Do you understand that your business entities have already been found guilty of fraud?,
4) Do you understand the purpose of this hearing?,
5) Are you presently being treated for cognitive decline, senile dementia, or Altzheimers disease?,
6) Who won the 2020 Presidential election?
IANAL, but here in Maine, before a person over 65 can enter into a legally binding contract, a lawyer must assess their mental competency to transact business. If this assessment is not made, the family has the right to have the contract revoked on grounds of mental incompetency. These laws are part of the effort to prevent elder abuse. Analogously, trump’s lawyers could be called upon to declare he is mentally competent to testify.
Just wondering if anyone has similar thoughts?
