ONE YEAR TO WIN: We’re one year out from 2024. Up for grabs in Wisconsin: the White House, Senate, House, and state legislative majorities.
WisDems is ramping up to smash records with our One Year To Win organizing push this weekend. Chip in, sign up for a shift, and read on!
In 2017, 2019, and 2021, WisDems ran huge One Year To Win organizing drives one year out from major elections. In each case, we found tons of voters that we otherwise never would have contacted—who then turned out and helped us win.
x Dems: This moment is a test. And the answer is to ORGANIZE. @WisDems have a massive push to contact 100k voters by 11/8—exactly 1 year from the midterms—& add 200 new monthly donors. With VA in the rearview, read & amplify my #1Year2Win thread, & chip in:

2017’s push helped us defeat Scott Walker in 2018—and elect Governor Tony Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul, and then-Treasurer Sarah Godlewski… each by roughly 1% margins. And we reelected Tammy Baldwin. The early work paid off.

2019’s push helped us beat Trump the next year… by 0.6%.

And in 2021, One Year To Win launched us into the midterms where we reelected Governor Evers and AG Kaul—despite historical precedent saying that, with a Democrat in the White House, we’d lose the midterms.

Now, we have to win another essential election—in which the stakes in Wisconsin are equally colossal.
What happens in One Year To Win?
We talk to voters that are NOT our regular targets for Get Out The Vote—to see who might be up for joining us next year. New voters outraged by attacks on reproductive freedom. Possible former Republicans who believe in democracy. And so on.
We don’t go out trying to persuade people of something—we go to ask them questions about what they believe in, to see if we can find common values on which to build. We connect, develop relationships. We learn.
It’s some of the most fun canvassing we do every election cycle… and it updates our data about where we should be focusing in a way that makes a HUGE difference in the following year. This is when we find our margins of victory.
This weekend, we plan to launch hundreds of canvass shifts in more than 100 municipalities in Wisconsin—from Superior to Beloit, from La Crosse to Milwaukee, from Tomahawk to Kenosha, from Madison to Sturgeon Bay… and everywhere in between.
So—join us at a volunteer shift to knock on some doors! There will be canvass launches everywhere, and a terrific Democratic elected leader might be there to help energize us all. Find one near you:

One Year To Win involves a huge door-to-door canvass operation—but that’s not all. We’ll also be running phone banks all weekend long. And the great thing about phone banking? You can do it no matter where you live. We’d love your help.
Meanwhile, our year-round Voter Protection team will have their final push to recruit poll workers for 2024 during this One Year To Win weekend. Under state law, political parties have a November deadline to submit poll workers for the following year. This is urgent, vital work.
Joining our Voter Protection phone bank can help make sure every polling place is fully staffed in 2024, and every eligible voter can cast their ballot. We don’t want to let the Steve Bannon anti-democracy extremists flood polling places. Help recruit poll workers.
One more way to help. All of this work, so early on, takes a lot of resources. Will you chip in a few dollars to make sure we can sustain our programs through 2024? Any amount helps us elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
We’re proud of the work we get to do all year round. And it’s our grassroots donors who fund our daily work and take it to the finish line. Your contribution will directly set up our One Year To Win weekend for success. Will you join us?
While our work towards 2024 started long ago, One Year To Win is the moment we spin our organizing machine up to full power.
This weekend marks the acceleration of our work towards victory. Chip in any amount to help us start on the right track!
By the way—I’m so grateful for the support of Brian Tyler Cohen and Leigh McGowan (AKA Politics Girl) joining us in the state this Friday to officially help kick off One Year To Win at our special event “Justice Defended LIVE.” If you haven’t yet RSVP’d, it’s not too late and anyone can chip in to join!
And stay tuned all throughout this weekend to see how Wisconsin Democrats show up in every corner of the state!
