A REALLY Short Diary [1]

I’d like to think that this diary will help a lot of people but I’m probably kidding myself. It’s gonna be SHORT.
There is a lot of kvetching about the slow pace of justice and the lack of accountability and the constant stalling and the reluctance of Law to enforce itself, and I not only get it, I’ve done my share and then some, probably.
What there’s been less of is an articulation of the thing that drives that malaise.
Well hell, Beau just did it.
Beau haters are cordially invited to hold your seminars elsewhere, so that people can talk about what he has actually said here. By all means have at it, it’s a free country and he can handle it, just please, not here if you could be so kind.
He nails it. Nails it. Give a listen.
I had a tooth extracted today and it was arduous. My oral surgeon is a genius and walks on water, not literally of course about the water, but yeah, genius surgeon. He looked at the mess I brought him and sighed and got down to business and this anesthetic-combusting redhead actually enjoyed the Oldies that were playing in the background because I never felt a thing. The guy works miracles. And I had a very good idea of what he had to do, and man alive I have never heard noises like that from a drill in my life, and I’ll stop there to spare y’all.
Except that he finished the job and put in the sutures to the accompaniment of Gil Scott-Heron singing “Lovely Day”, and I had an hour’s drive to get home and I did it without as much as a twinge. But man, I am dog tired. There was a LOT of trauma, as in surgical trauma, not anything avoidable or unexpected, and my body is letting me know it. So I will be very desultory in tending this, but that’s OK, mostly I brought it here because it gave me the words I’d been searching for, with increasing frustration, for months.
Also, Beau is pretty somber in this. He keeps his reactions understated, so this is something to pay attention to.
