Grovel for the Gavel (& h/t to TCG!) [1]

Tall City Girl prompted me to pursue poetry after my quip “Grovel for the Gavel” about the R’s Speaker’s race circus…so here it is:
GROVEL for the GAVEL
A flurry of flubulous fools,
Laughably looking for leadership.
They’ve abandoned the regular rules,
Shamelessly seeking the Speakership.
This riotous rabble and their blubbering babble,
Whose hollow heads rattle in their bumbling battle
— As they grovel for the gavel !
Sadly, they strive to seem serious
While they harass, intimidate, and threaten;
But, they’re absolutely ridiculous,
Wildly wielding their not-quite-secret weapon.
They’re big on the gamble, too haphazard to handle;
So let the liars all haggle, and the contenders all scramble
— As they grovel for the gavel !
These traitors truly are treasonous,
And their goons are grossly inept;
Their politics are pathetic and poisonous,
Their boorish behavior as bad as it gets!
This goose-stepping gaggle relentlessly rambles,
As the crime-family cabal continues to unravel
— As they grovel for the gavel !
Now acting decidedly delirious,
Rationality and reason upset them;
Such crass, crazy antics should worry us —
They’ll burn it all down if we let them!
Too timid to tackle the Tramp in the saddle,
Who herds them like cattle — we’re gonna get trampled!
— As they grovel for the gavel !
