My thoughts about name-calling/simplistic labeling. [1]

As a non-theist Buddhist a fundamental part of my philosophical belief is non-violence.
As an American after 9/11, I pointed out that unthought-through actions of violent intent will come back to bite us. I was called Un-American and basically, a traitor, when I objected to extraordinary rendition and torture being useless and inhuman actions, I was ridiculed.
As climate activists, we have been labeled in Europe as sociopaths, vandals, eco-anarchists, and fear-mongers, by our own governments.
In my activism for women's and LGBT+ rights misandry has been one of the nicer labels that I have been accused of, everyone [I hope] knows the cruder examples.
As a supporter of a two-state solution in Israel, I have been called everything under the sun by extremists on both sides. No action can be regarded in isolation.
As an anti-colonialist with respect to the fall of democracy and coups in the Sahel in part due to arrogant French colonialism I‘ve been told to go back to Canada [I suppose it's my accent]. Damn foreigner in other words.
As a Buddhist, I’ve been asked sarcastically what would I do if attacked, I know, do you, as if I haven’t. [I have written about this before and really don’t want to discuss this here again].
As a left-handed redhead, I have been “naturally” called, “feisty” and more extremely a witch, I assume that was due to my natural plumage. Hah.
I have visual dyslexia, oh what fun to ridicule me.
It is somewhat tiring and all too simplistic.
Grow a thicker skin I’ve been told, why is that down to me?
Do you actually know me?
It won't stop me from saying what is on my mind.
Just a thought.
