Gym Jordan Wants Another Two Days To Bully House Republicans In His Quest For Speaker. [1]

According to those lefties over at Forbes, there will not be a vote for House Speaker unit at least Tuesday. Not earth shattering news, but what caught my eye about this article is that the media is repeating the same line about Jim Jordan’s quest for power. It’s not really in any of the headlines, but I have spotted it multiple times in the body of those stories:

Jordan’s uphill battle to become speaker is the latest leadership challenge in the fractious House GOP.

Emphasis is mine. And those same dirty fucking hippies at Forbes basically state that Jordan is going to bully those malcontents in the House that don’t support him.

There are tensions between more moderate Republicans and the far-right coalition who led McCarthy’s ousting as an unnamed member of the House told CNN some are cautious of “rewarding” the far-right’s behavior by electing their preferred-candidate, Jordan, and falling victim to a “small group (of) dictators” in the party.

Then there is one of Jordan’s supporters, Dan Crenshaw, who come out today with some heavy duty criticism of Jordan’s campaign:

Crenshaw says pressure campaign by Jordan is ‘dumbest way’ to support GOP nominee for Speaker

Seems that Crenshaw thinks that using an X/Twitter campaign of pressure against the non-Jordan loving House members will only piss them off.

“So what I would really recommend to Jordan’s allies too, is a lot of them have mounted this high-pressure campaign,” Crenshaw said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “They’re going to whip up Twitter against the people who are against Jordan.” “That is the dumbest way to support Jordan, and I’m supporting Jordan. I’m going to vote for Jordan. And as somebody who wants Jim Jordan, the dumbest thing you can do is to continue pissing off those people and entrench them,” he continued.

And once again, we have the following words showing up again:

Crenshaw also said that Jordan will be facing an uphill battle for the Speakership this week, but reiterated that any issues that people may have with him should not be dealt with in such a public light.

But it appears that making it public is what Jordan and other supporters not named Dan Crenshaw want. This is because there appears to be 40 hard “Nos” to Jordan.

It’s been clear that Jordan will face an uphill battle since his nomination on Friday, after which a second private vote revealed that 55 members were opposed to his speakership. Jordan can only afford four GOP defections in the likely scenario in which the Democrats vote unanimously against him. An anonymous senior GOP House member told CNN Sunday that there are roughly 40 “no” votes within the caucus, and that he’d personally heard from 20 members who have pledged to block Jordan’s path to the top House job if he forces a vote on the floor Tuesday. “The approximately 20 I’ve talked to know we must be prepared,” the representative said. “We cannot let the small group dictate to the whole group. They want a minority of the majority to dictate, and as a red-blooded American, I refuse to be a victim.” But some close to Jordan believe he can capitalize on moderate Republicans’ allergic reaction to the public revolts and political brinkmanship that have typified the GOP’s hard-right flank. “These 60 members are not voting against Jordan on the floor,” Russell Vought, a Jordan ally and president of the Center for Renewing America, a pro-Trump think tank, wrote on X. “Take it to the floor & call their bluff.”

There it is again!

But don’t you just love the anonymous senior GOP House member’s “bravery” on dealing with Jordan’s bullying. It’s anonymous. The “We cannot let the small group dictate to the whole group...I refuse to be a victim!” sounds a lot like Brave Sir Robin from Monty Python’s Holy Grail movie.

The problem here is that reactionary MAGA Republicans are more than happy to be dicks in public. In fact, it’s what they live for. And this includes the women. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan does have a public fight on the House floor.

And tragically for all Americans, it has been the — cough, gag, yell bullshit! — “moderate” Republicans who have continually caved to Trump and his MAGA disciples. It’s worse than watching Lucy with that damn football tricking Charlie Brown. Whenever it comes time to vote for some MAGA POS bill, Republicans fall in line.

If those other Republicans — everyone of them a conservative and not a moderate — really want to put an end to some of this bullying, all they have to do is vote against Jordan. Then, a handful can go over and make a deal with Hakeem Jeffries. But that would take an act of courage, which I haven’t seen out of any of those Republicans.
