The ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party failed to secure parliamentary majority.

What does this mean? Most likely, the new coalition government will be led by the pro-EU Civic Coalition.
Poland won, democracy has won," Mr Tusk, 66, told a large crowd of jubilant supporters in what felt like a victory rally in Warsaw. "This is the end of the bad times, this is the end of the ruling party, PiS."
PiS is known for isolationist, anti-EU, misogynistic and homophobic positions. Their majority was lost despite a stable economic situation in an election that scored a record or near-record turnout. This result also likely means continued Poland’s support for Ukraine and a formation of a coalition between Tusk’s Civil Coalition, the center-right Third way and the leftist Lewica.
The pro-EU opposition appears to have massively outperformed the expectations, in contrast to the recent elections in Slovakia that brought to power the party of a pro-Russian populist Robert Fico. A hat tip to thurayya who pointed in comments that Konfederacja, a possible partner for PiS, got wiped out at the polls.
