A perfect assessment of the Republican Party [1]

When you are a party that hates the government, thinks government is the problem, seeks to sabotage the functions of government at every turn, and has barely veiled contempt for the people you are supposed to be governing, considering voters (the fewer the better) to be dumbed down chumps and suckers who are there only to be manipulated and fleeced, well, then running a government might prove downright problematical. This is the toxic legacy of that genial fiend Ronald Reagan and the eternally despicable Newt Gingrich, the vile hypocrite who single handedly poisoned our political rhetoric, demonized the opposition, and brought us the scorched earth, no compromise, take no prisoners political culture that is the current operating principle of modern Republicans; they are nothing more than an organized crime cabal impersonating a political party. The GOP should have long ago been prosecuted and dismantled as a racketeering enterprise under the RICO statutes. The end of the Republican Party is the first prerequisite to restoring the democracy they have all but destroyed over the past 40 years. They don’t belong in Congress: they belong in jail.
