Extensive Poll on Mostly Economic Issues With Crosstabs [1]

By the Liberal Patriot and You Gov. As always I’d suggest ignoring the head to head. (Biden up by 3 or something) The head to heads including Manchin or others as spoilers at the end are kind of fun, but the gist of it are questions about things like SS, work requirements, immigration, energy production, taxes, what topics are top 3 of importance etc.

The crosstabs are by age, sex, children or no, college or no, race, union household or no, ideology, who they voted for, sex, income, and probably a few other I forgot. 3,000 registered voters.

Lots of surprises too numerous to comment, some made me laugh, others pissed me off, how can people be so dumb lol. . I read these things for a long time, and when I hear someone say their favorite hobby horse is the most important thing on voters minds I often do a silent eye roll.

One thing you can depend on, advisers to both Trump and Biden read these kinds of things all the time. There is a reason both candidates are campaigning really hard about this whole UAW going on strike thing. 60% of voters are working class. Being seen as supportive of auto workers in the upper midwest is real important.

Another thing that struck me is some things like raising taxes on the wealthy are very popular, yet we don’t do it. Why? I think it’s because those are the folks that pay the piper. I digress.

You can read the accompanying article at the liberal patriot here but a lot of it is the horse race. At the end of the day I’d think much of the election will be similar to 20 in that no matter where people stand on the issues, or how old Biden is, or anything else, Trump is at heart a crazed autocrat, and a lot of voters can’t vote for someone like that.
