Donald Trump's 2025 Inaugeration Speech: "I am your retribution" [1]

Today is January 20, 2025. The election was extremely close, and you are still in shock after listening to President Trump's inaugeration speech that started with the words "I am your retribution."



For a long time, it looked like it would be a decisive victory for Joe Biden. Donald Trump's criminal indictments hurt him a lot with the steady leaks of damaging information, but he managed to delay all of the trials to after the election. The Joe Biden impeachment and the Hunter Biden trials were red meat for Fox News viewers but ignored by the rest of the country. Then, in August, President Biden had a fall on stage in Hoboken, NJ during a campaign event and broke two ribs, taking a few days off the campaign trail. While recovering, he got COVID and spent another ten days in quarantine. While there was never any real danger to his health, the messaging about how he was "too old" was catastrophic. Super-PAC campaign ads and social media bots showed compilations of Biden gaffes to claim he was senile. As the election got closer, gas prices went over $5 a gallon as a result of OPEC production cuts. Still, even with that, the election was exceedingly close. However, Trump narrowly won North Carolina, and Arizona, helped in large part by the vote totals of the Libertarian, Green, and No Labels candidates. Interestingly, many of the No Labels organizers have since accepted positions in the new Trump administration.



Trump's speech started with the statement "I am your retribution," and then he listed his major foreign policy initiatives. First, he would stop supplying any weapons to Ukraine to force them to the negotiating table. He would also defund NATO, the World Bank, and the World Health Organization. To keep manufacturing in the United States, he would create a 200% tarriff on most Chinese goods. There would also be a moratorium on immigration, with a ban on asylum applications. United States Special Forces would be authorized to conduct drug raids in Mexico "if necessary." If Mexico wanted to stop it, then they could stop illegal immigration and build a wall on the border.



Domestically, President Trump announced that he would "drain the swamp." He acknowledged that thousands of government bureaucrats had already quit, but he promised that would not save members of the Deep State from prosecution. He was creating a special office to root out members of the Deep State across all government departments. Furthermore, he was appointing special prosecutors to try and convict Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Brian Kemp, among others. He also promised to investigate crimes by the "lamestream media" and revoke their broadcast licenses. He demanded "retribution" against the prosecutors trying him, but did not say what that meant. President Trump promised to get rid of "woke ideology" in the military and promised that he would overhaul the leadership. He would also appoint new leaders for the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Education, and the Internal Revenue Service who would downsize their agencies and rework their missions.



There were other promises in the speech to gain energy independence, improve manufacturing, and grow the economy, but most of that was a word salad that was hard to follow. Regardless, the audience went wild whether he made sense or not. Every time he said he would "make America great again," he had to pause for the crowd to quiet again. He looked especially angry when complaining of voter fraud in Georgia and elsewhere and promised to "fix" the problem.

Despite Donald Trump's age, he looks remarkably healthy. His term does not end until January 2029. Presumably, an 82 year-old Trump would leave office peacefully then, wouldn't he?
