There are more reports today about progress in Verbove and Novoprokopivka, but success in this case is measured in square meters. It remains tough sledding.
x Ukrainian forces chipped away another part of the Russian trench network, south of Robotyne, and reaching the outskirts of Novoprokopivka.
Additionally, the Ukrainian army widened the control near Verbove, reaching at least the perimeter of the village. This also paraphrases… pic.twitter.com/wKVNmyPTCP — (((Tendar))) (@Tendar) September 24, 2023
An aluminum hull makes this self-propelled mortar lightweight. It also makes it a prime candidate for a big bavovna.
x A Russian 2S9 Nona-S self-propelled mortar gets hit by an AFU 72nd Mechanized Brigade drone resulting in a large secondary explosion. Nice FSB building you have there. It’d be a shame if anything happened to it. A damn shame.
x Explosions are being heard in Kursk today again.

Russian athletes shouldn’t be competing internationally in the first place. But this event was in Hungary, which might explain why.
x Ukrainian figure skaters refused to congratulate the Russians on their victory

The coffins on the plane are most likely officers. The coffin in the dump might be an empty box, but it appears to be unopened. Maybe it fell off a truck.

It pisses me off to see people who demand absolute support but are ready to throw allies under the bus at the drop of a hat. I’m referring to Jay in Kyiv and other bloggers.
That’s not what Penn said, according to Fox's story on the interview with Sean Hannity (see below).
x Wow..
Sean Penn implies that even he, a lifelong Democratic party voter, would consider voting Republican if they would do more for Ukraine than the slow drip we've seen from the Biden Admin.
Absolutely. pic.twitter.com/ETaJdaee9d — Jay in Kyiv (@JayinKyiv) September 24, 2023
Later, Hannity cited criticism of the Biden administration's handling of the war, saying the president "vetoed" a plan to provide MiGs to Ukraine, and that the conflict is becoming a "proxy war" with Vladimir Putin. Penn replied there are many elements at play, and when it comes to whether the GOP or Democratic Party has taken the right tact on Ukraine, time will best tell. "I think that whether it's Republican, Democrat or anything in between, that – and I'm of course not a political analyst, but as an observer of it, as one more citizen – I would say that I'm very confident that whichever party might support decisive action; complete action in this, it would be a political win, not to mention a principled one." …… Penn remarked he has never voted Republican and isn't likely to do so, and therefore would like to see Biden and the Democrats view the conflict in a "very realistic and bold way, and get this thing over."
Alcohol may have been involved. “Hey Sergei, hold my vodka!”
Short answer: No, they’re just pulling it out of their asses as they go along.

Further proof that it will take many, many years before Ukraine can have friendly relations with Russia again.
This is how many of the tree lines that separate fields in southern and eastern Ukraine now look. Troops and equipment use the tree lines for cover, so artillery from both sides shred the trees into matchsticks.
