This attack on an airfield in Crimea included Neptune missiles and a large number of drones, intending to overwhelm Russian air defenses. Russian reports indicate at least 30 were killed. There is no indication yet how much damage was inflicted to the aircraft that were there.

Ukraine hit Sevastopol in Crimea again. This time it’s the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. It was still burning hours later.

Biden told Zelenskyy that the US will finally send ATACMS, although only a small amount. I’ll believe it when it actually happens.

President Joe Biden has told his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that the United States will provide a small number of long-range missiles to aid the war with Russia, three U.S. officials and a congressional official familiar with the discussions told NBC News on Friday. The officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly, did not say when the missiles would be delivered or when a public announcement would be made. , known as ATACMS, which would give Kyiv the ability to strike targets from as far away as about 180 miles, hitting supply lines, railways, and command and control locations behind the Russian front lines. For months, Ukraine has asked for the Army Tactical Missile System , known as ATACMS, which would give Kyiv the ability to strike targets from as far away as about 180 miles, hitting supply lines, railways, and command and control locations behind the Russian front lines. Defense officials have said the U.S. does not have a large stockpile of excess ATACMS, which have a bigger payload than traditional artillery, to provide to Ukraine. Also, some in Washington have resisted supplying the weapon, known colloquially as “attack-ems,” out of fear that it would widen the war with Russia.

This is a productive strike in Melitopol.

Tucker Carlson seems to have landed a job where he actually fits in — on Russian State TV.

x It looks increasingly like Tucker Carlson is going to have his own dubbed show on Russian state TV's rolling news channel

The same trailer as two weeks ago is now being shown on Rossiya 24 with the added caption of "at the weekend" (my own screengrab) https://t.co/ozJPqHyraD pic.twitter.com/wapqAxnp7k — Francis Scarr (@francis_scarr) September 22, 2023

This is from the BBC:

Russian TV news channel Rossiya 24 has aired a trailer for a weekend show featuring former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson. The state-run broadcaster did not make clear whether it will feature original content or be a translation of his regular English-language videos on X. Carlson abruptly left Fox News in April where his populist conservative takes were renowned. Rossiya 24 has not yet said when the show will air.

They’d still be alive if they stayed home.

x 2/ A joint investigation by Important Stories and the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) has analysed the reported deaths of thousands of mobilised Russians. They found that almost every region of Russia has sustained fatalities, with the youngest just 19 and the oldest aged 62. — ChrisO_wiki (@ChrisO_wiki) September 21, 2023

3/ At least 130 died within the first month of mobilisation, with some being killed just days after arriving in Ukraine. 20% were killed within two months, with the average mobik dying within 4.5 months. 0.2% lasted 11 months before they were killed. 4/ Every tenth mobilised person who died was aged under 25, with half of the fatalities occurring between the ages of 30 and 45. Anton Getman from the Rostov region was the youngest at 19; he was mobilised three months after the end of his conscript service. 5/ At the other end of the scale, 62-year-old Major Nikolai Isakov from the Tver region survived eight months in Ukraine. He was killed in Russia, in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region, during the June 2023 incursion by the pro-Ukrainian Russian Volunteer Corps.

Too bad, so sad.

I have mixed feelings about this. The pilots are participants in war crimes but do their families deserve to be harassed?

At dawn, he goes away from people and plays the trembita, making powerful sounds in the air and land of Donetsk region. Bohdan's little daughter Nastia is waiting for him at home. She gave him a toy dog to keep him safe. Bohdan always carries it on his armor. Nastia has the same toy at home. They agreed to exchange toys when Bohdan returns home.

Good thing they were rescued.
