DeSantis lies about crime
Ron DeSantis mandated Florida schools lie about the past. So it is no surprise that he lies about the present. Attempting to float his sinking campaign, the dime-store despot claimed that, under his watch, crime in Florida was at a 50-year-low . Unsurprisingly, the data did not support his assertion.
Three ex-officials from Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) told NBC News. “We knew the numbers were bad. The governor’s office wanted to say outright that we were at a 50-year crime low, and we told department leadership, verbally and in writing, that was not accurate because of the deficiencies in the data.”
DeSantis did not care. He continues to lie like a con man.
Rudy gropes Cassidy
The star witness of the Jan 6 House Committee meetings Cassidy Hutchinson, accuses Rudy Giuliani of sexual assault. In her new book , Enough, Mark Meadows’ ex-assistant reveals that the soon-to-be bankrupt convict was a nasty little groper.
She accuses Giuliani of putting his hand “under my blazer, then my skirt” while noting that former Trump adviser John Eastman witnessed the assault. “I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh. He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to [Trump adviser] John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin.”
Enough indeed.
Shapiro says Brand is no worse than Stern
Talking about pussy grabbers and other loathsome human beings, Ben Shapiro is incensed that people have pilloried Russell Brand while others have praised Howard Stern. Shapiro is mad that the self-described “woke” Stern offered his typical unPC take on Lauren Boebert’s theater outing.
“Lauren Boebert is a disgrace to this country! Forget the politics. She’s in a titty dress. She’s with some dude. Looks like she’s obviously vaping, but also looks like she might be grabbing his penis during Beetlejuice. But I got to admit — when I watch that tape I go ‘God she must be so much fun to fuck.” i.e. the usual Stern stuff.
On his podcast, Shapiro responded, “So the rule is in our media and in our international politics, as it turns out that if you mirror the priorities of the left, then you can pretty much do whatever you want. The reason I say this is because if you look at the disparate consequences for public figures ranging from, say, Russell Brand on the one hand to to somebody like Howard Stern, on the other, the public consequences are quite disparate.”
Shapiro knows — although he counts on his audience not knowing — that Stern’s words and Brand’s behavior are not comparable. Besides, you can turn off the radio, but you cannot turn off Brand.
Democrats win in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania
There is good news for Democrats in two local elections . They held onto a seat in the Pennsylvania House — maintaining their narrow majority. And they picked up a seat in the New Hampshire House — narrowing the Republican majority to one. A majority the GOP could lose in another special election in November.
Although these elections do not necessarily prove a national trend — only 10,000 voters cast ballots in PA and 2,800 in NH — they reflect a trend of Democrats out-performing their 2020 and 2024 numbers. In PA, a safe blue seat, they increased the margin from 22% to 30%. And in NH, they won the seat by 12% in a district narrowly won by Trump in 2020.
A new high for book bans
America’s neo-Nazis have fired up the metaphorical book-burning bonfires . Through the first eight months of 2023, the ALA tracked 695 challenges to library materials and services, compared to 681 during the same period last year, and a 20% jump in the number of “unique titles” involved to 1,915.
Working on the premise that "a little learning is a dangerous thing," America’s culture vandals are trying to ensure that nobody learns anything.
What CROWN Act?
In May, Texas passed the “Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair” (CROWN) Act, joining 19 other states and the federal government, which have passed laws banning racial discrimination based on hairstyle.
The Barbers (ironic) Hill High School authorities did not care. They took one look at 17-year-old Darryl George’s hair and suspended him for a week. He made him serve his punishment by sitting on a stool for eight hours daily in the detention room.
When he refused to cut his hair, he got another five days.
Cultural freedom should have the same respect as religious freedom. Besides, looking at George, I have no idea what the problem is.
Republican "Christian values" include death and famine
House Republicans unveiled a budget blueprint on Tuesday that proposes trillions of dollars in federal spending reductions over the next decade, specifically targeting Medicaid and federal nutrition assistance for steep cuts.
Because nothing say “Jesus” more than kicking the poor and downtrodden in the teeth, so that GOP donors may live as if the camel will never come in contact with the needle.
