My Grand Unified Theory to Explain U.S. Politics [1]

Elected #Democrats govern, because their supporters value good government.



Elected #Republicans often just grandstand to create more buzz in the echo chambers, because that's where their supporters get what they think is the truth. That's where the loudest voices win regardless of truth or merit, as #Trump keeps demonstrating.



In both cases, the primary election results are purely #Darwinian. Survival of the fittest in each respective environment. By contrast, the general election is determined by whichever population is more motivated to actually vote: Those who value good government, or those who value the loudest voices (e.g., to own the libs).



The #GOP used to value good government. But #SocialMedia and right-wing TV media echo chambers grew in popularity, inexorably supplanting that value.
