Is Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) real?

Some MAGAs believe PA’s junior Senator, John Fetterman, has been replaced. A BBC reporter tweeted Tuesday, “There’s now a community of people online who regularly share images of John Fetterman to figure out whether he’s real or has been replaced by a body double.”

This piece of insanity raises two questions. One, why? Two, how? I suspect that the paranoid believe Fetterman’s stroke was so severe (fatal?) that the socialist powers-that-be have substituted a healthy version of the Senator. That is nuts. If he were that disabled, PA’s Democratic Governor could appoint another Democrat.

Also, Fetterman is 6’ 8” — the pool of potential body doubles must be vanishingly small.

Fetterman has joined in the fun by admitting he is really Senator Guy Incognito (D-PA).

Rep. MT Greene (R-GA) writes a book

Greene announced the forthcoming publication of her first book, which she says will be called "MTG," and will help pave the way for her to attain higher office, including the vice presidency.

Question: Who will read it to her supporters?

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) says she might wear a bikini on the Senate floor

The GOP’s capacity to be horrified at everything except veritably horrible things has sucked Susan Collins into its vortex. Reacting to Schumer’s decision to relax the Senate’s dress code, Collins told reporters , “I plan to wear a bikini tomorrow to the Senate floor, and Chris Coons is gonna wear shorts because there’s no dress code anymore.”

Disappointing the salacious or the merely curious, she poured cold water on her threat. “Obviously, I’m not going to wear a bikini. But the fact is, as I understand it, I could.”

NB, while the Democrats have passed bills addressing inflation, infrastructure, drug costs, climate change, gun violence, a pandemic, etc. — the GOP is debating dress code - and doubling down on the Obama tan suit crisis .

Fetterman addresses the dress code emergency

Identified as the reason for Schumer relaxing the Senate dress code, Fetterman reacted to criticism of his fashion choices by channeling his inner Lauren Boebert to identify a path to beatification. "I figure if I take up vaping and grabbing the hog during a live musical, they'll make me a folk hero."

(Note: Am I the only one who learned a new euphemism for heavy petting today?)

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) hates liars

Frustrated by the GOP’s preference for performative politics over productive policies, Mace moaned “I don’t like feeling like I was misled or lied to on particular pieces of legislation.” Oh dear, she sure picked the wrong team.

The GOP announces the start time for their fall follies

People concerned that the GOP will be too occupied shutting the government down to do anything else insane will be gratified to learn that the gang who cannot shoot straight plan to start their Biden impeachment hearings on September 28.

However, anyone anticipating verifiable evidence or expecting the production values of the Jan 6 Committee will be disappointed.

Anti-weed warrior DeSantis' campaign funds pot promoters

Ron has a preternatural ability to be wrong on every issue. As many Americans embrace legalized pot, DeSantis is campaigning for a marijuana ban. As part of its push to win Ron the presidency, the pro-Desantis super PAC “Never Back Down” has paid Axiom Strategies and Vanguard Field Strategies $25 million for their electoral expertise.

At the same time, the marijuana concern Trulieve has paid Axiom and Vanguard nearly $29 million to push a 2024 ballot initiative that would legalize recreational marijuana in Florida.

Somebody’s high.
