Photo Diary: Kansas Aviation Museum, Wichita [1]

This museum is located on the grounds of the old municipal airport. It has a nice collection.
Some photos from a visit.
For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit.
The museum is housed in the old airport terminal

Learjet 23 business jet
Beech Starship. Famous for its unusual “propellers in the back” arrangement.
Allied Aircraft A-2. Designed after WW2 to compete with the Beechcraft Bonanza, the factory burned after this prototype was built and it never went into production.
B-47 Stratojet, a Cold War nuclear bomber
Boeing 727 in FedEx livery
B-52 Stratofortress, a Cold War nuclear bomber that is still flying today
Mooney Mite 18C. Designed after WW2 as a cheap “everyman’s plane”, it never caught on
Steam-powered aircraft engine from 1933
Konica Hexar SK-100 camera, used by the Japanese Army during WW2 for aerial reconnaissance
Beechcraft Staggerwing, built in 1944
Travel Air D-4000, built in 1929. Outfitted as a racer, this model was often used in post-WW1 air combat movies.
Cessna C37 Airmaster, a popular general aviation plane from the 1930s
Boeing YCGM-121B Seek Spinner, an unmanned drone from the 1980s that was designed to find and destroy enemy radar installations. It had a 40-pound warhead.
