Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day: Charlie Gerow [1]

Welcome to what is the 1238th original profile here at “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day”, where we’ll be profiling Charlie Gerow, a former Vice-Chair at conservative void of ideas, American Conservative Union, frequent CPAC guest, a two time failed candidate for Congress in 1998 and 2000, and a 2022 Republican candidate to be Governor of Pennsylvania.
We don’t even need to go into detail with this profile and list all of his terribly extreme conservative positions… we’re just going to point out he was one of the slate of false electors lined up in Pennsylvania after the 2020 election to try to aid Donald Trump’s coup attempt (leaving him in legal jeopardy at the moment), and just to give Pennsylvania’s electoral votes to Donald Trump even though he lost the state by 81,000 actual votes…
But even more puzzling is that Gerow is yet another Republican who ended the life of another human being in a vehicular accident, and just kept on truckin’ like they hadn’t been near an accident where someone died. And when the cops stopped them, the Republican attempts to say, “I had no idea I hit someone”, even though there’s pretty obvious physical evidence of a fatal collision. The first time we heard of this phenomenon was earlier this year when we were talking about Jason Ravnsborg over in South Dakota.
Gerow had a similar incident in Pennsylvania, where his car struck a motorcycle, and then he drove for miles dragging the motorcycle in the grille of his own vehicle before the police pulled him over… and he just tried playing innocent. Like… how do you not notice that collision? How do you pretend your vehicle isn’t handling differently with a motorcycle stuck into the front? How do you claim nothing’s dragging?
The answer: You’re a conservative sociopath.
He avoided charges as once an investigation was underway, his lawyer claimed Gerow only hit the motorcycle AFTER someone else hit the driver, and there wasn’t enough evidence to pursue charges. Still, it takes balls to run for governor when you’re on a list of people who conspired to overturn American democracy, and you may have killed a man. Charlie Gerow got a whopping 1% of the vote in the GOP Primary, finishing eighth out of a possible nine candidates. He will hopefully stop running over the working class before he recreates the plot of A Tale of Two Cities.
