Six days out of the hospital and, generally, I feel OK. I can fulfill my job duties in both jobs. My blood sugar has now stabilized. But I’m still not 100%. I still feel a bit weaker than usual but I am getting better.
While I did take some reading material with me to the hospital (I almost always have reading material with me), I was much more consumed with week 1 of college football seasons. Games all day and all night on Saturday. A Sunday night game. I was in pain, stuck full of IVs and all but...in heaven.
Sunday, I mostly watch MSNBC and become mildly fascinated with the whole Burning Man thing. I first heard of the Burning Man “festival” in the early to mid-90’s and was quite fascinated by it then but now it seems way too commercialized (I mean, Neal Kaytal?!...just sayin’...).
Now I’m home, back to a sense of normalcy. The world didn’t fall apart (these days you never know).
I do think that after this recent trip to the hospital, I’ve changed a little bit.
Generally it’s the recognition that yeah, I am getting older and time turns back for no one. Therefore, I need to make some changes in ways that I am only vaguely aware of.

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down. Please remember that comment inclusion in Top Comments does not constitute support or endorsement by diarist, formatter, Top Comments writers or DailyKos. Questions, complaints or comments? Lex Lurker’s reply to MarcKyle64 comment on Rando Calrissian diary Sorry, When You Threaten Our Kids, All Bets Are Off. Funny but sad truth in reply to the pathetic truth that a pathetic, miserable approximation of a man will be honored after death.
