CNN Calling Poll "Devastating Verdict 0n Biden" Only Devastates CNN's Own Fading Credibility [1]

CNN’s current lead headline claims that its new poll by SSRS represents a “devastating verdict voters delivered on Biden.” The poll (www.documentcloud.org/... ) does no such thing. The actual poll, compared to CNN’s article devastates CNN’s credibility not Biden’s chances for reelection. A quick check of the actual poll on SSRS’s website admits the poll was based on an “over sample of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents to reach a total of 898 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents [out of a 1503 total sample].” In other words, CNN’s use of this supposedly ‘devastating’ poll is premised on CNN’s nonsensical assumption the electorate in 2024 will likely be 59.7% republican or republican leaning when actual election results from the last national elections indicate that republican and leaning republican voters are in the minority and are a dwindling share of the electorate.
Even with the poll’s heavily weighted bias against Biden, the poll still shows Biden neck and neck with likely potential Republican challengers from 46 to 47 against Trump to a tie with DeSantis and 47 to 46 Biden over Ramaswamy. CNN calls the results of this meaningless poll a “gut punch” to Biden. Even assuming that Biden’s team bothers looking at such junk media polling, they would likely be pretty darn happy with the results where a poll stacked against Biden shows a competitive race more than a year out, Obviously, if the the admitted over sample were corrected to eliminate the Republican and leaning over sampling, Biden would be well ahead of his potential opponents.
