It's Up To Voters to Save America From Trump & His Faux Authoritarianism [1]

As the effort to disqualify Trump from the November 2024 election gains momentum, it is worthwhile to take a few minutes to listen to JFK explain why he wanted to become president of the United States. Kennedy’s vision formed around the future America had in front of itself — the New Frontier.
A recent Gallup poll found that former President Kennedy had the highest approval rating among recent presidents; Donald Trump has the second-lowest approval rating among recent presidents. JFK received an overall 90% rating, while Reagan and Bush came in at 69% and 66%, respectively.
When asked in a September 2022 interview why he wants to be president, Trump responded: “The question I get asked more than any other question: ‘If you had it to do again, would you have done it?’” Trump told [NY Times’s Maggie] Haberman. “The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.”
As the interviewer notes, “For Trump, the presidency was a means to a personal end: to make him more famous, more marketable, a bigger deal.” There was no mention of Trump’s vision for America’s path forward; ending America’s “carnage,” whatever that meant, is his hangover legacy from his first failed term in office.
In November 2020, Trump lost the presidential election by 7 million votes. A final rejection of Trump again in November 2024 will end one of America’s longest-running political nightmares — Donald Trump.
