New Day Cafe: Last Summer Sunday [1]

Good morning, Cafe! Here we are on the last holiday weekend of summer. Be sure to wear your white shoes today , because….y’know.

Grab a cuppa and a nice nosh and join us!

All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation. There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope. We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community. We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.

One of my most favourite singer-songwriters passed away the other day. Jimmy Buffet was a source of joy and fun ever since the late 70s for me. How fitting that he went out on the last tide of summer. Never thought of myself as a “parrothead,” but was always a fan. Safe voyage home, Jimmy.



I was out on Friday night, and on the way home, got a great look at the moon. Just past full, but stunningly beautiful. So I’m including this because the angle is exactly how I saw it:
