Labor Day Weekend Update: Rural Progressive Working to Flip a Seat from Entrenched GOP Incumbent [1]

First of all, I hope you are all having a great Labor Day Weekend. I’m that Progressive running in Central PA again and I wanted to give an update on some progress.
To recap: Before the Primary, I took it upon myself to do texting on behalf of all Democrats within Centre County. This cost my campaign about $2000 (and time) to arrange. The results were approximately 1500 more Democratic votes than anticipated. This not only helps my race, but helps up and down the ballot. And it resulted in voter turnout of over 40% outside of the State College area (also known as the COG). But I didn't stop there.
Here’s what I have been up to:
I have partnered with Field Team 6 and with volunteers, we can make phone and texting outreach to register voters. I am collaborating with local folks to do this outreach and work at getting progressive and Democratic leaning folks to register to vote. I have some volunteers working on this and a few other groups helping me. I have partnered with Rideshare2Vote to conduct robocalls, texts, and live calling to help arrange rides for infrequent Democratic voters to come out to vote. Due to the nature of many municipal races and school board races, I put a lot of focus outside of the State College Area School District because the margins are tighter in the more rural parts of Centre County. This group not only contacts infrequent voters, but it also helps clean up countywide data. This makes it so mailers and canvassing data is more accurate which saves time and money. This has cost my campaign a few thousand dollars. And finally, I am working with Red2Blue again with the texting focus to do outreach to voters, with a focus on more Dem friendly (also infrequent or ignored groups) voters to increase turnout. The volunteers have been great, this has cost me about another $1000.
Why do I put such a focus for a Recorder of Deeds seat (other than the fact I am running for it)? Because my job as a row officer candidate is not only to make it so the County Commissioners don't have to worry about a part of county governance, my job as a candidate is to ensure that other candidates up and down the ballot win.
I will be knocking doors, making calls, and sending out texts. I hope that you can support me and others by doing the same.

Local races matter: Whether it’s school board, municipalities, or counties, those governmental entities have the most direct impact on your way of living
Judicial races matter at the state level (yes, Pennsylvania elects judges): This is about protecting rights and preserving democracy. These races matter too. That is why the work I do is heavily focused on helping all candidates, not just myself.
Thank you all for reading, I appreciate it.
In Solidarity,
Robert L. Zeigler
Democratic Nominee for Centre County Recorder of Deeds
