Mormons have an answer... [1]

Sorry just to jump in (and I know I’ll get jumped on) but I just registered. I registered with an old work email--I think—but that was like twenty years ago. Whoops.

‘Tanyrate, this is rather than replying to The Question post.

Here’s how I learned it. God is god for the Universe. Jesus is the Messiah for the Universe. He’s also god. (The Holy Ghost is the third god in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ godhead—but that’s another thing.)

Jesus came to our world. We’re the special ones who got the savior of the entire universe. Neat. On other worlds (there are worlds without number) they learn about Jesus. I’ve heard it explained that Jesus came here because we are the most evil world, the only one that would kill its Christ. Ahem.

So don’t tell me there’s no religion that tackles the topic of the Savior of the Universe.

BTW, in introduction, I grew up LDS in Zion (Bountiful, Utah, to be more specific). I went to the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong on a mission in the early nineteen-eighties and learned about Buddhism and Confucianism and how limited my Western thinking was. It’s truly a miracle I got to go to Hong Kong...if you believe in those sort of things.

My above Mormon explanation is not based on any recent knowledge. I’ve been an atheist for most of my life, and I’m just going on memory. But they (Mormons) really did have a clever take on a lot of esoteric questions. If you’re interested in your own planet someday, I suggest you check ‘em out. Just don’t let them fool you, polygamy is still a thing. It may only be serial monogamy now, but when they get their own planets, they’ll need lots of wives and children. I don’t know exactly the physics of it, but then these are ideas from the early 1800s.

P.S. I love you guys. You are so smart and accomplished on this site! Even the comments are worth reading. I’ll try to look and respond if’n I get any, but I’m happy to launch this into the echoless void.
