This is Colorado's official state history museum, located just a couple blocks from the Capitol complex. It was full of school groups when I arrived, but after a while they all left and I had the place to myself.

Some photos from a visit.

For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit.

During Prohibition, the Coors Brewing Company made malted milk in order to keep all its machinery intact and running

This Civil War monument stood in front of the State Capitol until it was toppled by protesters in 2020

38-star flag from 1876, when Colorado joined the Union

Items from the Pig’N’Whistle, a Denver tourist center from the 1920s

Reconstructed barracks from the Amache center in Colorado Springs, where Japanese-Americans were interned during WW2

KKK items. The Klan was powerful in Colorado in the 1920s.
