The Perfect Storm: Idalia gives DeSantis a small window of opportunity to save face [1]

DeSantis put his campaign on hold and went back to Florida to do the job he was elected to do. Good for him but it was a no brainer. How capable or effective he will be is another mater altogether. If his reception in Jacksonville is any indication he is in for a rough ride. I guess he might have learned something from his no-show, when Ft. Lauderdale was doing a poor impression of the Lost City of Atlantis.
Even the best case scenario has Idalia having a major destructive impact. His pretty white boots are going to prove as useless as he is with the shit storm coming his way. The very people he is going to need to rebuild and help salvage what is left have fled or been denied entry. To complicate matters at least 29 gas stations in and near Tampa may have sold gas contaminated with diesel. It’s not just car engines at risk but emergency generators as well. Murphy’s Law comes to mind.
Ronald McClownFace DeSantis has an Inafoe Snowball chance in hell of winning the Qop presidential nomination.
This is his chance to save face and declare he is pulling out of the race completely.
He needs to do it before Florida sinks below the waves at which point he will have no choice.
His declaration that he is going to re-make America into Florida is something he will no longer be able to campaign on. A snorkel in every pot won’t cut it!
Will he take the off ramp presented and go quietly into the night?
