The Poll Isn't Shocking [1]

71% of Trump voters believe Trump is more likely to tell the truth than everyone else. How is this shocking? It’s shocking it’s not higher than 71%. Has anyone talked to a Trump supporter in the last seven years? Have you tried to talk sense to them? Present an argument with facts? Show them the audio and video evidence? Trump supporters want nothing to do with facts or the truth. They believe, no matter what, that Trump is right because he tells them he’s right.
My father is a MAGA Trump lunatic. He believes it all. The election was stolen, vaccines will kill you, it was just locker room talk, there wasn’t any violence on January 6th, it was a perfect phone call, the hurricane was going to Georgia and Alabama, there were good people on both sides, Hilary’s emails, and every other nonsensical thing that has come out of Trump’s lying lips, my Dad takes it as gospel, as if it God himself told him.
I’ve tried to talk to him about it. My word have I tried.
“He said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose any voters!”
“He’s right. I’d still vote for him. I believe him. Why don’t you believe him?”
“How could there be good people on both sides?!?!?”
“You weren’t there. Trump was there, he met the people. If he says there were good people on both sides, why don’t you believe him?”
“You serious believe that Obama wasn’t born in America? Here’s his official birth certificate.”
‘He wasn’t. Trump said that the birth certificate is fake, that Obama was born in some shithole country. Obama should be in jail for treason. Why don’t you believe him?”
”Who paid for the wall?”
”Trump said Mexico. And it’s a big, beautiful wall. Why don’t you believe him?”
Every scenario I’m at fault for not bowing down to the word of Trump.
For seven years I’ve been having these conversations. Not only with my dad, but with almost every Trump supporter I’ve encounter. There is no evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election. None. How many Trump supporters still believe it was stolen from Trump? Why do they believe it? Because Trump says so.
It’s a bad joke. A mother, a friend, a priest and Tucker Carlson walk into a bar and sit down next to a Trump supporter. The mother, the friend and the priest leave because they know any conversation is pointless. Carlson stays because he’s one of the good people on the other side.
Trump told more than 30,000 lies while he was in office. That seems like a lot. I get caught lying to my spouse once and all of a sudden we need couples counseling. Trump lies 30,000 times and he’s the Republican nominee for president.
The poll is shockingly wrong. It’s not 71%, it’s 171%. How do I know? Trump told my dad.
