I don’t have much tonight, so I thought I would give you a tour of my local area. Welcome to North Central Montana and Great Falls.
And now for the big attraction! Giant Springs state park and the worlds shortest river, the Roe River, just under 200 feet long.
This is my home stomping grounds, I grew up here and no matter where I went, I always returned home. The one landmark I miss the most is the great stack at the ARCO copper smelter, you could see it from 100 miles away and it always told me that I was almost home.
Here is a video taken during winter. You can see the ice on the Missouri River but there is no snow on the ground. I have seen this in many winters over the years, it is an odd feeling for sure.

Nobody is talking to anybody, the writer’s strike goes on with no end in sight. The rights of the writers against the greed of the industry owners and the industry owners don’t want to give up their profits to keep a viable industry going. Stagnation is good enough for them.
