Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour, the place where politics meets up with religion, art, science, nature, and life. Come in, have a cuppa and a cookie (or three!) and join us. Although with the temperatures here, no way am I wanting a hot drink. Gatorade Zero Glacier Freeze, nearly frozen from the refrigerator, please.

I know not everyone is sweltering, but even many of us who have more reasonable temperatures, like not in three digits!, are having other environmental issues. My sympathies, truly, for those struggling to breathe from wildfires. Hoping for cooler weather for some, clearer air for all.

This is part of an occasional series of America’s forgotten Black and Native artists. Today, it’s Robert Sheldon Duncanson, primarily a landscape artist of the 19th Century, although he also did portraits and still life.

Blue Hole, Little Miami River

Ellen’s Isle

Landscape with rainbow

On the Saint Anne’s, East Canada

Still life with fruit, nuts

The Caves

Vulture and its prey
