The story in the link below details events in the on going Ukrainian struggle to free itself from Russia… but these events date from thirty years ago when Ukraine first became independent from the yoke of the USSR and were determined to make sure they stayed free.

I was completely unaware of what was going on at that time in Ukraine, I suspect I am not alone.
