Help Save Democracy by Recruiting College Students for Swing Left's "Crash Course" this fall. [1]

If you are any of these, here’s an opportunity to help save democracy by recruiting a college student for a free, nine-week training course to learn how to start a Swing Left group on your campus and defeat Republican extremism.

Swing Left offers new and experienced activists a platform to organize volunteers and promote them through websites like Daily Kos -- It’s a prominent volunteer opportunity on this site’s list of them. I have phone-banked for them and they’re great!

Here’s a summary of what the course, all on zoom, offers on Wednesdays, from 7:30–9pm ET from 9/13–11/8. The deadline for applications is September 10, 2023.

If you’re looking to get involved to defeat Republican extremism at the ballot box this year and beyond, starting a Swing Left group on your campus is one of the best ways to multiply your impact. By starting a Swing Left campus group, you can take high-impact actions in the most competitive races and give other students the opportunity to make a difference on the issues that matter to them. To help you get started, Swing Left is hosting Crash Course: Organizing Your Campus this fall, a virtual training program for college students that makes it easy to start a Swing Left group on your campus. Learn more: [ swingleft.org/crash-course ] During the training, you’ll learn essential organizing skills, including recruiting and retaining volunteers, building a team, hosting events, and more. You’ll also have the chance to connect with Swing Left staff and students on college campuses across the country to support you throughout the program.
