A trip down memory lane in Georgia: "It's all gone TOO FAR" [1]

For old time’s sake, and also because YouTube had recommended the clip in my feed, I watched a Georgia recount press conference given by Gabriel Sterling in the aftermath of the 2020 election. In fact, this press conference was given January 4, 2021, which in retrospect gives a little shiver, knowing now what would come just two days later.
In this video, Sterling, the system implementation manager for the State of Georgia, goes through several myths, distortions and lies that were floating around at this time. His main concern was that Georgians would self-sabotage and suppress their own votes, just because they had “a feeling” or had been led to suspect that voting shenanigans had gone on. He gave the conference to placate these fears and to encourage people to exercise the precious right that so many had given their very lives to secure.
Noted in this conference, which did not make any impression upon me when I watched it in real-time but that now has attained true significance, is the name Ruby Freeman.

This is what’s really frustrating. The president’s legal team had the entire tape, they watched the entire tape and, from our point of view, intentionally misled the state senate, the voters, and the people of the United States about this. It was intentional, it was obvious, and anybody watching this knows that. Anyone watching it knows that. That’s why we released the entire tape for people to watch.
Still in that frame of mind, I had to take in the Sterling press conference that stood out. You know which one I’m talking about: no doubt you yourself recall it. Given December 1, 2020, it’s the one where he took Donald Trump and his minions to task for encouraging threats and violence, stating in no uncertain terms that injury and death were in the offing.
It's all gone too far. All of it. Joe DiGenova today asked for Chris Krebs, a patriot who ran CISA, to be shot. A twenty-something tech in Gwinnett County today has death threats and a noose put out, saying he should be “hung for treason” because he was transferring a report on batches from an EMS to a county computer so he could read it. It has to stop. Mr. President, you have not condemned these actions or this language. Senators, you have not condemned this language or these actions. This has to stop. We need you to step up, and if you’re going to take a position of leadership, show some. My boss, Secretary Raffensberger: his address is out there. They have people doing caravans in front of their house. They’ve had people come onto their property. Trisha, his wife of forty years, is getting sexualized threats through her cell phone. It has to stop. This is elections. This is the backbone of democracy. And all of you who have not said a damn word are complicit in this. It’s too much. Yes, fight for every legal vote. Go through your due process. We encourage you, use your First Amendment. That’s fine. Death threats. Physical threats. Intimidation. It’s too much. It’s not right. They’ve lost the moral high ground to claim that it is.
In the days to come, Trump will intensify his efforts to muddy memories and reaffirm the mythology that he’d fed his followers about supposed errors and irregularities surrounding the Georgia vote.
Remember these press conferences, given by an impassioned Gabriel Sterling as he cast a finger at all involved, including Donald Trump himself:
Mr. President, it looks like you likely lost the state of Georgia. We’re investigating; there’s always the possibility. I get it, you have the right to go through the courts. What you don’t have the ability to do, and you need to step up and say this, is stop inspiring people to commit potential acts of violence. Someone’s going to get hurt. Someone’s going to get shot. Someone’s going to get killed. And it’s not right.
Remember this, as Donald Trump tries to rewrite the timeline and reassert his myth. He has no right to rewrite our memories.
